The beauty of burnt wood. Charred wood offers two unique advantages for façade design. On the one hand, the targeted burning of the wood surface preserves it because the wood cells are compacted and the wood is protected. The carbon layer makes the wood resistant to rot, water and insects. On the other hand, it results in a highly exclusive look with a unique character.
The charring process gives the surface a beautiful black colour and brings out the individual grain and texture of the wood. For interior design, the burnt surface can be sealed with a particular finish in order to keep the char from rubbing off.
